Norton Cricket Pavilion

The refurbishment of the existing Grade 2 listed clubhouse at the long established Norton Cricket Club, Worcester saw A J Taylor Ltd work alongside Main Contractor Speller Metcalfe to provide a sympathetic reworking of the existing buildings to provide bright modern changing & social facilities within the existing structures.

The electrical services included the provision of a new LV distribution system, general & emergency lighting suitable for a building utilised for public entertainment, general power installations including supplies for mechanical services and cooking equipment, fire alarms, security installations and renewables.

Energy efficient LED lighting has been provided through-out the building with automatic controls linked to daylight sensing to provide a pleasing environment whilst minimising energy usage. The function/Games areas have been provided with scene plate controls to allow for pre-set lighting themes as well as manual control as needed for presentations.

As part of the refurbishment a PV array was installed to the roof of the Changing Block to offset the energy usage of the facility. The PV installation has been provided with battery storage within the changing Block to allow for stored energy to be utilised during times of little sunlight or during evening functions.

A dual 7.4kW EV charging point has been provided within the carpark for Pay-as-you-go electric vehicle charging, with the facility to install a 2nd unit in the future.

The new facilities within the clubhouse included the opening up of the existing smaller rooms to form a new open plan bar area along with customer seating and a large indoor games/function area along with new commercial kitchen.
